Ways to Donate

Donate to the Long Island Society of St. Vincent de Paul today. Your gift will go far as we use nearly 90% of all funds donated to support our programs. It’s only with the help of our generous benefactors that we are able to continue providing support services to more than 100,000 people in need annually.

Become a Donor

You can support the work of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul with a check or credit card donation. Gifts of cash are tax-deductible, and the simplest, most common way of contributing. An individual can become a Monthly Donor, contributing to the Society monthly to provide ongoing support for families who are in need.

Clothing, Furniture, Car or Boat

You’ve probably passed the signs of our thrift stores countless times, or seen one of our trucks out on the road collecting donated items. Changes are you probably haven’t given them much thought as you go about your day. But for many people on Long Island, our four Thrift Stores have become an important part of their lives. For some, struggling to make ends meet; the Society’s Thrift Stores are a place where they can find clothing, furniture, home goods, and cars at prices they can afford. For others, our thrift stores are a place where true “bargain hunters” can always find quality pieces at low prices.

Our Thrift Stores depend on the donation of gently used clothing, furniture, and household items to help people in need. With the high cost of living on Long Island and the growth of the working poor, people need an affordable alternative to help furnish their homes and clothe their families. St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores provide that alternative.

All revenue generated from sales goes back to the Society to enable us to continue serving those in need throughout the community. Donations can be made directly to our Thrift Stores or through our recognizable green clothing bins that are located at 215 sites including supermarkets and parishes around Long Island. Clothing, books, household items, excluding cleaning products, other small, non-liquid, & gently used items can be dropped in one of our donation bins.

Furniture can be picked up at no cost to the donor.
